Kalamazoo is a brand that disappeared in 1942 only to be revived in 1965. Faced with a growing demand for budget-friendly guitars, Gibson responded by launching this line. The KG-1 borrows certain components from its larger siblings, such as its Melody Maker pickup, its wraparound bridge (also used on SG models), the electronics, and so on. The body shape directly competes with its West Coast rival, Fender, and its Mustang, Musicmaster, and other "student" guitars. It's a so-called vintage guitar, full of charm and character!
