Gibson Les Paul Standard 1969

Description :

In 1961, the Les Paul was replaced by the SG… What a mistake! Not that the SG didn't have the right to exist, but eliminating the Les Paul altogether… Faced with demand from musicians, Gibson reintroduced its flagship model to the catalog in 1968. Here, the specifications of the 1956 model were retained: Goldtop, tune-o-matic bridge, and a pair of P90 pickups. The appeal and rarity of these 1968 and early 1969 Goldtops lie in their construction: no pancake body, no scroll, no "Made in USA" marking, and a one-piece mahogany neck. Indeed, Les Pauls from the 1970s were built quite differently. This guitar has been restored to an exemplary standard. Originally fitted with a pair of humbuckers, the guitar has been refretted and the entire finish has been redone. As for the pickups, the P90 black bobbin are phenomenal: subtle, capable of evolving equally well in the realm of clean sound as in overdrive.
