Trade-in or consignment sale: what's the difference?

The recovery, It's a direct purchase. We make you an offer, you accept it, and we pay you immediately. You leave with the payment, without waiting for a buyer to come forward. The price offered is lower than the resale price because we cover the risk of not selling, storage, and other expenses.

The consignment shop, We sell for you. You are paid as sales occur, at a higher price, but the instrument may take some time to find a buyer.

Are you hesitating between the two options? We will advise you based on your instrument and your priorities (speed or best price).

What happens during a resumption of normal life?

You contact us with essential information about your instrument: brand, model, year, condition, presence of the original case, and any repair history. A few photos from different angles will allow for an initial remote assessment.

We offer an indicative price range. If it suits you, you can make an appointment at one of our stores (Paris or Avignon) to finalize the purchase. After physically examining the instrument, we will confirm or adjust our offer, and you will then be paid immediately by bank transfer, card, or cash, as applicable.

Which instruments are we using again?

Electric guitars, acoustic guitars, basses, amps, pedals, and effects. All brands, from the classics to rare models. We are particularly interested in:

  • Vintage American instruments (Fender, Gibson, Martin, Gretsch, Rickenbacker)
  • Characterful tube amplifiers (Marshall, Vox, Fender, Mesa Boogie, Hiwatt)
  • Historical Japanese guitars
  • Collectible models and rare pieces

We also consider more common instruments, provided they are in good condition.

On what criteria do we base our estimate?

  • The authenticity and originality of the pieces
  • The overall condition (finish, neck, frets, electronics)
  • Current market demand for this model
  • The presence of original accessories (case, certificates, papers)
  • Our ability to resell the instrument within a reasonable timeframe

Trade-in as part of a purchase

If you buy a guitar from us, we can take your old instrument in part exchange, with the price deducted from the trade-in value. This system allows you to upgrade your equipment without paying the full amount upfront. Please let us know when you make your inquiry.
