Ampeg SVT-VR Classic Series Head

The SVT-VR is a 300-watt, all-tube bass amp head designed as a faithful reissue of the legendary Ampeg SVT from the late 1960s. Manufactured by Ampeg, It retains the circuitry and aesthetics of the original model: six 6550 power tubes, several 12AX7/12AU7 preamp tubes, two channels (Normal and Bright), a simple yet highly effective EQ, and a massive sonic presence. Known for its deep bass, enormous power, and slightly saturated, very organic tone, it has become a benchmark for rock, punk, and metal bassists, often paired with the famous Ampeg SVT-810E (“fridge”) cabinets. The VR (Vintage Reissue) version aims to recapture the character of the original SVTs while offering modern reliability.
