Way Huge Electronics WM28 Smalls Overrated Special Overdrive

The LA WM28 is an overdrive pedal developed by Jeorge Tripps in collaboration with Joe Bonamassa. Based on a heavily modified Green Rhino, it offers a thicker, midrange-rich, and more aggressive tone than a classic Tube Screamer, while remaining very dynamic and musical. Its Freq control allows you to shape the low mids to thicken the sound or make it stand out in the mix, which is a big part of its character. It excels both as a boost in front of an already warm amp and as a main overdrive on a clean Fender or Marshall. Compact, very expressive, and particularly effective with humbuckers, it is often described as a “Tube Screamer on steroids,” with more body and sustain.
