Mesa Boogie M-Pulse 600

The M-Pulse 600 is a high-end bass head that has become a cult favorite among bassists seeking a warm and powerful sound without resorting to a full tube amp. Made in California, it delivers 600 watts into 4 ohms thanks to a hybrid architecture combining a 12AX7 tube preamp with a Simul-State MOSFET power amp stage. Its main strength is its extremely comprehensive control section: active EQ, 5-band semi-parametric EQ, built-in compressor with threshold and ratio controls, effects loop, DI output, solo function, and tuner mute. It allows you to achieve both a thick, round vintage tone and a very defined, modern sound. In terms of character, the M-Pulse 600 is renowned for its deep low end, significant dynamic range, and warm tone reminiscent of a tube amp, while maintaining the precision and reliability of a hybrid amplifier. Many users describe it as particularly rich, full, and "3D" in a mix. Mounted in a 2U rack chassis, it remains relatively compact for its power and is often considered one of the best Mesa/Boogie bass heads of the pre-Gibson era.
