Univox Square Wave SQ-150 1970's

The SQ150 Square Wave is an extremely rare Japanese fuzz pedal from the mid-1970s, made in Japan, and one of the most radical vintage fuzz pedals of that era. Its circuitry is similar to a Fuzz Face, but with a JFET stage and additional clipping, giving it a very aggressive, compressed, gritty, and almost chainsaw-like sound, with a rather spectacular Velcro-like quality. It only has Balance and Tone controls; the fuzz level is essentially determined by the circuitry, which contributes to its very distinctive character. It can produce a lot of hiss and even wobble/hiss under certain conditions, but that's also part of its charm.
