The Plumes is an American analog overdrive pedal inspired by the Tube Screamer circuit, but reworked with JFET op-amps to offer greater dynamics, clarity, output level, and less noise. It features three simple controls—Level, Tone, and Gain—as well as a 3-position selector switch: symmetrical LED clipping for a thicker, compressed overdrive; a no-LED mode that functions as a very open boost; and asymmetrical silicon clipping, closer to a Tube Screamer but with greater transparency. The Plumes is particularly effective for pushing a tube amp that's already slightly overdriven, but can also be used as a boost in front of another pedal or produce an overdrive on its own, ranging from a light crunch to a fairly high gain.
