Boss MT-2 Metal Zone

The Metal Zone is a cult distortion pedal released in 1991, known for its very high gain and especially its extremely advanced active EQ (semi-parametric bass, treble, and mid), which allows for very precise—even radical—sound shaping. Capable of delivering the highly saturated, tight, and cutting tones typical of metal, it can also become difficult to control if not properly adjusted, hence its sometimes controversial reputation. Ultra-robust like all Boss pedals, it remains widely used, whether plugged directly into a clean amp or as a boost in front of an already distorted amp, and is still an accessible benchmark for both modern and old-school metal sounds.
