The Epiphone Professional is a derivative of the Riviera, itself a cousin of the Gibson ES-335, manufactured in the same Kalamazoo factory in the United States. The story of the EA7P is a curious one, as it originally came with a 15-watt amplifier whose effects were controlled from the guitar via additional potentiometers and mini-switches. The idea was interesting, but it was a commercial failure: fewer than 400 sets were sold between 1962 and 1967. This particular model lacks the combo amp, but the essential features are elsewhere: a semi-hollow body made in the USA in 1962, equipped with a mini-humbucker and a 42mm nut width. Of course, at over 60 years old, it shows some signs of wear but remains in good condition; some of the pickguard screws have been replaced. It comes with its original black case with a yellow interior, in fair condition.
