Introduced alongside the Thinline and Custom models in 1972, the Deluxe swapped its standard pickups for Wide Range pickups developed by Seth Lover. Here, the originals have been replaced with Lollar pickups, closely resembling those of the 1970s. This series is extremely rare; only 50 examples were reportedly produced, exclusively for the Japanese market. The body is made of swamp ash, making the guitar lightweight, and the thick-bodied neck is Stratocaster-style with a 10-inch radius.
