Before being fitted with a Wide Range pickup in 1972, the Custom was essentially a Telecaster dressed up for a special occasion. It features two bindings around its body. The pickups on this Japanese-made model have been replaced with Seymour Duncan STL-1 & STR-1 (reproductions of the 1954 models), and the electronics have been replaced with Emerson components.
