Launched in 1958 alongside the Flying V, both models were a resounding commercial failure… It would be 18 years, until 1976, before Explorer production resumed! Here is a very special version: the Vampire Blood Moon has a swamp ash body with a mahogany neck, active GEM pickups with Alnico II magnets, and a Schaller vibrato. Note the Juju finish with red highlights and the teardrop-shaped inlays on the mahogany fretboard. Rare, only 400 were made, in very good condition and sold with its original case.
