Gibson Flying V Faded 2012

Launched in 1958 alongside the Explorer, both models were a resounding commercial failure. It wasn't until 1967 that Gibson resumed production of the Flying V (and even 1976 for the Explorer!). This particular guitar isn't the classic '67 reissue; it's a Faded model with a satin finish completely worn down by years of playing. Indeed, it's not a heavy aged/relic from the Custom Shop, just a guitar that has seen extensive live use! It has also been modified with the pickups replaced by active EMG KH-BB Kirk Hammett Bone Breaker signature pickups, with a ceramic magnet in the bridge position and an Alnico 5 in the neck position. The tuners are Kluson Deluxe, the potentiometer knobs are not original, etc. Sold with a gig bag.
