In 1961, the Les Paul was replaced by the SG… What a mistake! Not that the SG didn't have the right to exist, but eliminating the Les Paul… Faced with demand from musicians, Gibson reintroduced its flagship model to the catalog in 1968. This Custom is a player's guitar: headstock repaired with added veneer on the back, electronics cavity enlarged at some point for a mini-switch (very well restored since by DNG), tuners replaced, refretted, etc… On the other hand, this Les Paul sounds absolutely amazing!
