From 1983, before the creation of the Custom Shop, until 1993, Gibson began producing reissues of its late 1950s Burst models: this is the Pre-Historic series. On this 1959 LPR reissue model, numerous details distinguish it from a Standard. ABR-1 bridge, narrower headstock, thinner binding… and above all, a superb flamed top! Here it's particularly unique, notably with a much darker section under the bridge—we love it! A 1989 model, but already equipped with Classic 57 pickups, this beauty comes with the iconic brown case with pink fuzzy lining that defined an era at Gibson… This one has been played; it shows signs of wear on the back, headstock, etc… not an aged finish, but a true patina resulting from the three decades it has been played. Rare, excellent, and a collector's item!
