Gibson SG Junior 1965 Polaris White

6799,00

In 1961, when the Les Paul changed shape to become the SG, the Junior followed suit, though it wasn't until 1963 that it finally adopted its definitive name: SG. The construction is simple and effective: the body and neck are mahogany, while the fretboard is rosewood. This 1965 example boasts a number of qualities: first, its Polaris White color, which gives it a killer look; second, although the Vibrola is aesthetically pleasing, it isn't always practical, and this one doesn't have one from the factory, just a wraparound bridge. Finally, as it's from early '65, its nut width is still quite wide: 42.8mm. It naturally bears the marks of the last 60 years: the tuners have been replaced, it's been refretted, it has a recent case, and the volume potentiometer knob has been replaced (original included). A superb riff machine to play and to collect!
