In 1961, a major change occurred in the Gibson lineup: the Les Paul was discontinued to make way for the SG; well, almost, as it wouldn't officially adopt that name until 1963… This 1969 example is a player's model: refinished neck, no covers for the Vibrola Lyre or Patent pickups, new potentiometer knobs, locking Grover tuners, etc… This Standard has a rather unique, rugged look! Sold with a recent hardshell case.
