Gerry Tolman, the manager of Crosby, Stills & Nash, who passed away in 2005, is the man behind this limited edition. In terms of its construction, this "D" model draws inspiration from several Martin models—a bit of the D-28, a bit of the D-45… The top is Engelmann spruce, the sides and back are Indian rosewood, the neck is mahogany, the fingerboard and bridge are ebony, and so on. The finish is particularly noteworthy, featuring herringbone binding on the top, unique fret markers, and a mother-of-pearl rosette—in short, top-of-the-line! This particular example, number 345, is in excellent condition and comes with its original case.
