The ProCo RAT 2 is an iconic distortion pedal, prized for its versatility across overdrive, distortion, and fuzz. Released in the 1980s, it delivers an aggressive, sharp, and harmonically rich tone with a strong midrange presence. It features the famous inverted "Tone" filter (the further you turn it to the right, the darker the sound) and offers excellent sustain. Ideal for rock, punk, grunge, or old-school metal, it also works very well as a boost in front of a tube amp.
