About this instrument

The OCD V1.4 (Obsessive Compulsive Drive) is an analog overdrive and distortion pedal made in the USA, particularly prized for its open tone, dynamics, and response close to that of a pushed tube amplifier. This version differs from earlier OCDs by the addition of a germanium diode in the clipping circuit and improved smoothness of the volume control. It offers a harmonically rich sound, with more restrained bass and a slightly less mid-heavy character than some later revisions. It features three controls—Volume, Drive, and Tone—as well as a high-pass/low-pass selector switch allowing you to go from a more powerful, saturated sound to a smoother response. Highly sensitive to the guitar's attack and volume, it covers everything from light crunch to thick, expressive rock distortion. It is one of the most sought-after revisions in the OCD line.
