1981 Inventions DRV2 Overdrive

The 1981 Inventions DRV2 Overdrive is the evolution of the renowned DRV, a boutique overdrive/distortion pedal handcrafted in the USA. Based on the architecture of the ProCo RAT Whiteface, it retains the character that made the original model so successful while introducing new finishes, special editions, and, on some versions, circuit enhancements such as LED clipping ("The Professional"), offering more headroom, a more open attack, and more dynamic saturation. It features the three DRV controls—Cut and Volume—delivering a tone ranging from light overdrive to organic rock distortion, with excellent playing sensitivity, a response very close to that of a cranked amp, and remarkable preservation of the guitar's character. Operating internally at 18V via a voltage converter, it offers ample headroom despite a standard 9V power supply. Highly sought after for its minimalist design, its numerous limited editions (Hyperfade, Indigo, Buffalo, SpagheDRV, etc.) and its build quality, the DRV2 is now considered one of the best modern reinterpretations of the RAT circuit.
