True North Pedals Tweed Drive
140,00 €
The Tweed Drive is a fully analog boutique overdrive pedal, handcrafted in Canada by Sheldon Ens, designed to recapture the character of the legendary 1950s Fender Tweed amps. Far from being a simple "amp in a box," it remarkably reproduces the dynamics, touch sensitivity, and gritty grit of a cranked Tweed amp, ranging from a highly musical clean boost to a warm overdrive, all the way to a vintage fuzz reminiscent of a Tweed Deluxe at full volume. It features Drive, Tone, and Volume controls, as well as two mini-switches: a Diode Switch, which allows you to choose between classic low/medium gain clipping or LED clipping for a more open saturation and a fuzz-like character, and a Fat Switch, which boosts the low frequencies, particularly useful with single-coil pickups. The pedal responds remarkably well to the guitar's volume potentiometer, gradually cleaning up the sound without sacrificing dynamics. Its aesthetics are also unique, with a casing covered in genuine tweed fabric, a nod to vintage Fender amps. Highly regarded for its natural feel and amp-like performance, it is often cited among the best pedals inspired by tweed tones, particularly for blues, vintage rock, and Neil Young-esque sounds.
