T-Rex Alberta

The Alberta is a Danish overdrive pedal, one of the very first designed by T-Rex Engineering (along with the Mudhoney, the CompNova and the Tremster), handcrafted in Denmark; inspired by the circuit of the Ibanez TS-808 Tube Screamer, it delivers a creamy, mid-heavy overdrive with a more generous bass than the original, behaves like a real tube amp pushed when you increase the gain and becomes a superb "blues tone" at low gain, all this with only three potentiometers (Gain, Level, Tone) in true bypass — a simple but highly sought-after model for its musicality, which also gave rise to a dual-channel version, the Alberta II.
